International Students Plan
International students studying in Canada can purchase travel medical health insurance to cover them for unexpected medical emergencies. These plans include options for coverage related to dental related emergencies.
Super Visa Insurance
The government's Super Visa program allows parents of Canadian residents to come visit their kids and grandkids for up to 2 years at a time. One requirement of the program is that the individual must show proof that they have coverage for a minimum of $100,000 in Visitor to Canada Travel Insurance in order to be eligible.
All Inclusive Holiday Travel Packages
You can bundle the emergency medical travel coverage with trip cancellation, trip interruption, and baggage. This can be purchased on single trip basis or on an annual basis for multiple trips if you travel more frequently.

What is Travel Insurance?
A Travel Insurance policy is designed to cover losses and unexpected events while travelling domestically or internationally. Whether you are travelling with expensive goods in your luggage, need to cancel your trip, or encounter an emergency medical, Travel Insurance can cover it all.
What does Travel Insurance cover?
Depending on your need, Travel Insurance can provide just about any coverage relevant to your trip. Common coverages found in a Travel Insurance policy are:
- Trip Cancellation: If your trips take an unexpected turn and you can no longer go on a trip, this coverage reimburses you for the prepaid, non-refundable and forfeited expenditures.
- Trip Interruption: This coverage reimburses you for the difference of things like higher-priced flight home if your trip is cut short due to reasons like a Covid-19 outbreak.
- Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Luggage: No one expects missing luggage during their vacation or work trip. Get reimbursement for the luggage and the items inside.
- Emergency Medical Insurance: Most health insurance coverage will not cover you overseas. If you are going abroad, you will need to have coverage for reasonable emergency medical or dental care costs.
- And more.
I have my provincial health plan (MSP) through the government, so why would I need additional health travel coverage?
That’s great that you have your provincial health plan. Without that, you wouldn’t be able to purchase Travel Insurance coverage.
For example, your provincial plan here in BC only pays $75 (CAD) a day for emergency in-patient care at a hospital. The average cost in the US exceeds $1000 per day but can be as high as $10,000 (US) a day when in intensive care. Buying Travel Insurance will help you cover the difference in cost.
Do I have to complete a lengthy medical questionnaire?
All applicants over the age of 60 will have to complete a short medical questionnaire depending on the length of their trip.
The questionnaire is straightforward and helps gather information concerning any medical conditions that you might have.

When should I consider the Multi-Trip Plan vs the Single Trip Plan?
It’s best to look at purchasing a Multi-Trip Plan on an annual basis when you are taking at least two trips per year if you’re a frequent cross-border shopper.
If you randomly book trips during the year, you risk leaving the province without coverage if you do not purchase a Multi-Trip plan.
How about if I have a medical condition or even worse something that is life threatening, is it still possible to purchase coverage?
In case of an emergency who would I call since there might be a difference in time?
All the companies we work with have personnel available to assist you 24/7 and in various languages. Your travel insurance policy document will have more information on your emergency contacts.
How does trip cancellation coverage work and would it apply I book a trip during COVID?
Trip cancellation is when you can’t go on a trip and must cancel before departure. If you include this coverage in your Travel Insurance policy, it will reimburse you for the prepaid, non-refundable and forfeited expenditures. You will need to select a limit to cover the non-refundable portion of the trip.
However, keep in mind that this coverage will not apply when we deal with a known event such as the COVID pandemic.
Will my travel insurance send Me back home If I Get Sick or injured?
In many circumstances, travel insurance does not necessarily send you back to your home country. Instead, it sends you to the nearest medical facility and ensures you get your needed attention.
If you sustain any injury or have pre-existing conditions, the insurance bears it all, giving comprehensive coverage.
Why student travel insurance is important?
When students travel abroad, they become exposed to many risks as recreational or business travellers, so it is essential to have travel insurance that can cover medical costs at all times.
A student travel insurance will act as a multi-dimensional shield in any loss or accident, offering emergency medical expenses or other aid.
